I've been living in O'odham territory for about a year now. I love it more all the time. Its beauty is unmatched, and its air is so comforting. I like to go wander around the rez with Thosh and shoot photos - never gets old. Below are some I took in March.

Spring time here is especially exciting because, like everywhere else, many plants that have been sleeping come alive. I heard Thosh's brother Amson say that even though people refer to this area as the desert, that designation isn't exactly right. Here, there is a lot of wild foods, vegetation, and greenery. A true desert would be sand dunes and not much more. When I heard that, it really shifted my perspective on these surroundings. Compared to barren landscapes, like in the arctic or the Sahara, this place could be considered lush.
